"Getting coached by Graeme has altered the trajectory of my life. My only regret is that I didn’t start earlier. I’ve been able to secure an excellent job, improve personal and professional relationships and gained an inner confidence and thought process that makes me look forward to problems rather than fear them"

About
GB wide right.jpg

Hello, I'm Graeme Barry.

I am a Professional Certified Coach with the ICF, the world's largest coaching body. I am also a Mentor Coach to other professional coaches.

I work with people all over the world who are looking for conversations that will help them to change their lives.

I provide life coaching, leadership coaching, executive coaching and relationship coaching and retirement coaching.

I feel very fortunate to do this work. I have coached people all over the world and am regularly inspired by their courage and skill and just by their unique human-ness. We are all amazing, even when we think we are being ordinary and dull.

"Having Graeme as a coach has given me a more in-depth conversation, which I didn’t reliably have access to before….a non-judgemental space in which I am able to say things that are difficult to say elsewhere. It’s rare to have this kind of conversation and it has felt like a point of stability in my life."

Chiara, Berlin

Are you looking for better balance in your life or more energy, time, excitement or something else?

Is your body trying to tell you something but your brain refuses to listen? Maybe your heart is leading you one way and your gut is tugging you in another?

Do you just want some space to breathe and think and feel?

Perhaps you have lost yourself somewhere along the way and feel disconnected from the person you used to be?

Is there a drumbeat somewhere inside you can't ignore?

Do you secretly just need permission to do the thing you know you really want or need to do?

If so, it might be time for a really good conversation...

"The guidance and support I’ve received from Graeme over the past year has been invaluable.  As both a writer and musician, I’ve faced numerous challenges on my creative journey.  Through it all, Graeme has been a lighthouse in the tempest.  Our conversations have deepened my confidence and steeled my resolve as I continue to work toward my goals."

Getting to a Good Conversation

Our conversation should feel spacious, relaxed and safe. At times it might feel slower, with plenty of time for silence and thinking. At other times it might seem exciting or even risky, when you are challenging your assumptions or expressing things for the first time. Together we can make the conversational space whatever you want it to be.

One of the joys of coaching is that it is very flexible. Some people I work with for years; some people just need one or two conversations. You can book sessions one at a time or in blocks of a few. If you need to speak at short notice that is usually not a problem.

To begin, book a free Discovery Session where I can answer your questions, find out more about you and what you're looking for, and you can get a sense of how the whole thing feels.

Our first conversation is free and with no obligation. It will be a pleasure to speak to you and discover what you're looking for.

How I Work

How I Work

I am a certified Physical Intelligence coach (pending), which means I can help clients to integrate their whole physical self with their thoughts and feelings, so they can live and work with more strength, freedom, resilience and endurance. For all of us, our whole body is a natural and active element of any good conversation - usually we just don't notice what's going on outside our head.

As a coach, people describe me as calm, insightful and understanding. Without ever applying a formula, what happens at the beginning of a coaching conversation is that I listen in two ways:. I hear all the words and listen for what is important so I can play it back to the client with all the noise stripped out. Things should quickly seem clearer.

What also happens is that at the same time I tune in to all the rich layers of information that are woven in with their words. I make a mental note of what's seems significant and offer it back to them as a thing they might like to explore. These might be apparent contradictions, assumptions, themes, beliefs, values, things diminished and glossed over, questions of identity and purpose, systemic factors - it's a long list.  The conversation gently proceeds and as we explore these things, the client is able to separate a little from their situation so they can stand back and see it more clearly.

Along the way the conversation is very much a collaboration between the two of us. Sometimes it is organic and usefully meandering; other times it is focused and structured, according to what the client said they need.

After all that, taking action and making progress back in the real world often happen more easily, sometimes without apparent effort. Sometimes no action is required - the conversation itself has shifted things and done the work.

My closest colleagues, who know me best, say this:

“What we love about Graeme is the way he brings his whole creative self to his work. He hears behind words and invites you to spar with your own thinking, challenging your logic and bringing a refreshing shift in perspective. Graeme believes in limitless boundaries - you’ll come away from his sessions knowing he is on your side and with a desire to look at your world a little differently.”
